「attend」の使い方

 

「attend」は、「〜に出席する」「～に参加する」という意味で使われます。

I attended the event yesterday.
（昨日、イベントに参加しました。）

I need to attend an online meeting today.
（今日、オンライン会議に参加しなければいけない。）

 

「attend to」の使い方

 

一方で、「attend to」のように「to」を付けると、「～に注意を向ける」や「〜に対応する」という意味になります。

The hospital does not have enough staff to attend to the patients.
（その病院は患者に対応するのに十分な従業員がいない。）

We have many issues to attend to.
（私たちは、対応しなければいけない問題がたくさんある。）
