「連続」をあらわす表現

 

「～年連続で」や「～日連続で」と言いたいときは、「in a row」「straight」「consecutive」などを使って表現できます。

in a row

 

I worked eight days in a row.
（8日間連続で働いた。）

She was nominated for the second year in a row.
（彼女は2年連続でノミネートされた。）

straight

 

I slept for 12 hours straight.
（12時間連続で寝た。）

The company’s earnings fell for three straight years.
（会社の収益は3年連続で減少した。）

consecutive

 

I held the event for the fifth consecutive year.
（そのイベントを5年連続開催した。）

I entered the wrong password three consecutive times.
（誤ったパスワードを3回連続入力した。）

 

✔ 基本的に、「数字（1,2,3…）」の場合は複数形の単位、「序数（1st, 2nd, 3rd…）」の場合は単数形の単位を使います。
